I love what QT brings to this kind of event. Just pure love of making movies and it shines through. Most people in the business feel they need to be serious and modest to be taken seriously, and their films are mediocre because there’s no passion, no drive to put out great cinema. And when you do, people call you a showoff. It’s so ridiculous.
As for Jolie. If she hadn’t been up to snuff, dressed fabulous, she’d have to deal with torents of abuse from the american press covering the event. Trust that her pictures will be in every magazine, barely mentioning IB by the way, and that they’ll be scrutinizing her with a fine toothcomb. She’s no slouch, she knows how this business works. Everyone of those photog’s wanted her picture and we all know it. Anyway, I thought she looked great. Kind of sad how people judge based on nothing but standing and wearing a dress. She looked great though
