Yeah, I meant Mr. Blonde. I was just exaggerating though.
Budd is the only one of the DIVAS that vocaly says that death is the right punishment for them. Vernita only says she repents becouse she don’t want to die. Budd is a bastard, but not a fucking bastard.
Ok, mb i skipped it, but i got a HUGE thing which ive never heard on the internet, so ill tell ya.
When the bride tries to attack Budd, u can see his shoes before the fight (while shes still lying on the ground), he has cowboy boots.
The bride later escapes the coffin with a knife she takes outta her shoes…guess what shoes?
BUDDS shoes
This is a clear Mr.Blonde thing to, so i rly doubt its just a movie mistake, especially cuz it focuses so much on her shoes in the coffin. ( there is another reference to Mr. Blonde, the moment budd shoots the bride u can see 1 second out of his view, and theres a gasoline can - the same Mr. Blonde used. So Budd REALLY wanted to save the Bride.
I’ve always wondered about the boots. I dont remember what kinda shoes the bride was wearing before she gots shou by Budd.
I think its clear Budd just wanted to punish her , not kill her. He would sell the sword and just move on with his life and money.

Um… I thought they were just both wearing cowboy boots. What do you mean, that Budd took off his boots and put them on The Bride? You can see they’re both wearing cowboy boots in the scene outside Budd’s trailer sure.

He buried her alive. I’m pretty sure that’s a clear indication of what his intentions were. :-</E>
Yeah he didnt just want to kill her by burying her alive. He wanted to torture her… I think that shows just how sadistic he was.
I always wondered how Budd ended up in a sh**ty trailer in Barstow. I thought he was supposed to be a world class assassin. How did end up as a bouncer in a strip club with no money? What happened to all that money? QT needs to write a book someday with all the backstories for these characters…
I just assumed he grew tired of the lifestyle and decided to live alone, in order to forget his past.
Financially, Bill just stopped paying him cuz he disagreed with Budd quiting.

me too. the argument between bill and budd is the backstory i’m most interested in.
Absolutely! The story of the fallout between Bill and Bud needs to be told. Maybe it will be. I mean, Quentin said he knows every detail of every one of the characters’ lives, so he needs to let us in on it. That’s too big a thing to leave up to personal interpretation. It’s not like a “what’s in the briefcase” type of thing.
speaking of that briefcase I wonder if the man knows what’s in it. He has said in various interviews that the characters reveal the story to him as he writes it and if the characters never show it’s contents maybe he doesn’t know anymore than I do.

I don’t know how sadistic his actions were. According to some of the backstory told he should be pretty damn aware of how skillful the Bride is. I have to agree with the idea that while he certainly had to defend himself, he deserved just like the others that fucked the Bride over to get his, and she deserved a good chance to do it.
More than that, Bud really was a man at the end of his rope. If he somehow lost all the money he presumably had earned in the hitman business he could certainly lose the measly million bucks Elle brought him.
And what if he was where he was because of Bill? How far to fall from traveling around the world earning vast amounts of money killing people to being in a shitty trailer and working at a tittie bar part time, the job wasn’t even fucking regular. During the confrontation with Bill, Bill acts and says things that could very well mean that if anyone is responsible for Bud’s current situation, it’s his brother.

If that you say is right, i think i know the reason of the fall out between Budd and Bill. I may seem a bit weird but mayby Budd had a crush on the Bride and was not happy over ruin her life. He mayby sold the katana to Ellie so the sword’s curse(read about it) whould fall on her so The Bride could kill her easely while he escaped.
I thought it was interesting that Budd lied to Bill about selling his Honzo sword.
Which book do you guys recommend I buy for cool info on Kill Bill?

Kill Bill: An Unofficial Casebook by D. K. Holm, for sure! One of the best books about Kill Bill. You won’t regret your purchase. I have yet to read mine fully.

no doubt rock the book David Carridine wrote. Until QT releases some sort of special behind the scenes bit better than the two making ofs on the DVDs it’s definitely the most in depth look into the film thus far. And although the casebook might be more comprehensive, it’s done in a very critically analyzed way which isn’t nearly as exciting as hearing the tale told by someone who was actually involved, and whose such a bitchin’ writer.
Here’s an interview show with William Paul Clark, Quentin’s first AD on JB and KB. He talks a bit about KB… I personally was so impressed with this guy. The questions asked by “jades a goddess” are from me… http://www.thestream.tv/watch.php?v=794
I was watching the burial scene last night and no doubt Budd put his boots on the bride.
He buried her with a flashlight, a knife, and in a poorly crafted coffin. Budd knew she was trained by Pai Mei, he knew most likely she wasnt gonna die. He just wanted to do his part so he could sell the sword for money and tell (Bill, Elle) he had killed The Bride and move on with his life.
Wether or not that makes him a “good guy” who knows.
