Achilles to kame 9,5/10
Unlike Kitano’s 2 previous films, this one makes sense, and has structure - and has therefor has a much greater impact, both on an emotional level and with the humour. Many people will say he mixes comedy with tragedy in certain scenes and uses black humour, but I think the scenes which are meant to be funny and those that are sad/dramatic are clearly seperated. The film has good drama, and even greater humour. It was pure Kitano, and I loved it. Imo, his best film since Dolls.

Great Toho movie. It’s like Lost Horizon (Frank Capra) meets Toho monsters. Stars Joseph Cotten and Cesar Romero. Well made, interesting, entertaining, exciting and silly all at the same time.
I can understand why Cesar Romero’s character got mad in that one scene of the movie. If I surgically crossed an eagle with a lion and put a human brain in it, I would want it to obey my commands too.
