Apparently the people behind the comic book series Return to Wonderland (very dark, disturbing take on the Alice mythos) are attempting to get a studio behind doing a film adaptation. It’s still technically not Alice in Wonderland though. It takes place years later. Alice has gotten married and had two kids. Over the years she’s gone bat shit crazy to the point of near comatose and it’s her daughter who’s sucked into Wonderland this time. Everyone in Wonderland is pretty much an evil and sadistic version from the original.
I really doubt any studio’s gonna have the stones to make something like that though. It’s almost like doing a remake of Wizard of Oz where those little midgets try to gang rape Dorothy but the Lion shows up and rips them all to shreds.
