Personally, I enjoyed DP thoroughly. I’d rather see a fun movie like DP from Quentin, than see nothing from him.

I don’t give a fuck. All these years I’ve just been posing as a Tarantino fan, I hate that cocksucker and his lame films. All he does is rip off other films and regurgitates them into some self-indulgent shit fest. No person in their right mind would ever watch Kill Bill 2 or Death Proof. The real genius is Roger Avery, Tarantino’s career is based on betrayals, sucking dick and misplaced praise. Yeah, “real” movie, “proper” movie, “serious” “non hokey”… not that the others are fake but you know what I mean. At least not one exploitation flick after another.
I remember (during Kill Bill’s release) QT said how he was intending to do Kill Bill after From Dusk Till Dawn but since that was a full-on exploitation flick he didn’t want to do another one straight after so he waited until after Jackie Brown. Now, it seems like that’s all he does because that’s all he could be bothered, and wants, to do. And the sad fact is that: HE CAN DO BETTER !!!
Now it seems IB is evolving into a screwball exploitation action flick when it has the potential to be so much more. I just get the feeling that people are having to conform to this possibility and accept and prepare themselves to take it as such.

Right now I really do hope this is a big Howard Hawks type screwball war exploitation comedy. It would be a great time to me. I love all kinds of movies just like QT. If I enjoy it, thats good enough for me. I dont think QT should be restricted to making one type of movie either. Thats small minded.

Btw, we don’t want to turn this into a war on Kinick. He has a right to his opinion whethe ryou agree to it or not. I think it’s rather refreshing to have someone speak his mind and highlight his worries about a film he clearly wants to succeed. What’s more, he isn’t a troll or anything like fuckers like greendestiny who only came here to start some shit. Kinick is a QT fan, one who was very disappointed by Death Proof and who now doubts QT and rightly so (for him). So don’t crucify the guy just because he has a differing opinion to us. We don’t want to turn this forum into a place that only welcomes certain types of people (or fans, it seems). I always hated message boards where everybody is in tune and suck dick till they’re dry in the mouth. If you don’t like what Kinick says, simply ignore it and move on. But don’t bash him because he hasn’t bashed us! It’s unfair on him and unfair on other members who may want to hear the other side of the coin. So let’s keep this friendly folks, hostility isn’t welcome.
Being open minded isnt sucking dick though. If IB is a comedy and I like it, thats that. If its not a comedy and I like it, same thing. Im going to see this because QT is making it. Whatever I get out of it is part of the experience of being a fan.

not sure if he will go that far, but nowhere in the book does it say that every movie that deals with WW2 has to be a Spielberg-type gorefest with lots of tears, crying and realism… I wanna go to the mvoies and have fun, too.

Also, being a fan means more than having Pulp Fiction and Dogs posters on your wall. I mean I dont have one QT poster on my wall right now. I dont care about that stuff. Every college kid has a Pulp Fiction or Dogs poster on their wall in dorms. Doesnt mean anything.

It’s not a case of having to conform, but more of a case of being open-minded and letting things take their natural course. There ain’t no use in talking shit about something that hasn’t happened yet
I’ve never been one to make my negative thoughts heard regarding a QT film before it was released. It isn’t my style. I haven’t been disappointed yet, why should I ready myself for disappointment this time. Unlike you, I really enjoyed Death Proof and thought it was great. I pledged to never doubt QT again, I seemed to have lost my way a bit.
Anyway, the wrong reaction for you would be to be hostile back. I sincerely advise you not to go that way - for your own sake.
