Oh come on R-Rod… think of something original…

What is with these so called movie makers ‘re-doing’ a franchine.

There’s already a thread for this. <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.tarantino.info/forum/index.p#msg245454”>http://www.tarantino.info/forum/index.php/topic,9601.msg245454.html#msg245454</LINK_TEXT>

It appears to be a title for any collective news on R-Rod’s projects, not a specific type.

And it makes sense to have it in two places for two separate discussions on it. Yup. Brilliant.

I didn’t create it. I believe the admin did…

I suppose some projects merit a reimaging or atleast an update. This isn’t one given that one of these came out very recently, same goes with Tomb Raider, that’s a great example of a studio idea.

btw I started this topic for random RR news, so there might be some overlaps with other topics but this is just a tally topic where you can post RR news as you find it

Damn. How did I not know about the Austin Studios re-opening? I mean, I heard something from my friend in Austin, but I didn’t pay much attention. If he would have mentioned RoRo’s name, I’d have listened better. That’s pretty cool. Wish I had $1,000 to throw around.

you don’t? lame

I’m glad he’s not doing the Predator films or Sin City, I mean he pretty much established an entire new subgenre with Sin City so what was there left for him to do in that department. A sci-fi thriller sounds great to me, especially now - most filmmakers are getting it wrong and the genre has suffered because of it.

What is the right way of doing a sci-fi thriller, seen as though you believe most filmmakers are ‘getting it wrong’.

Well take a look at Dark City - that was really one of the best ever made. Minority Report with Tom Cruise and let’s not forget PT Anderson’s cameo which was awesome! Then came AI from Spielberg again and from there…(blank). The recent slew of sci-fi films have had zero success compared to the one’s I mentioned - except for Serenity. So there. All other “sci-fi” films have guys like Vin Diesel or some other tough guy in it.

The last “new” Sci-Fi I watched was Sunshine, from Danny Boyle. It was fantastic.

It’s cool to finally get some information directly from Robert for a change but it would be nice to hear something new. The reporters at slashfilm must be really bored or just easily impressed cause they seem to post this non-news stuff a lot.

I liked the way he compared Nerveracker to Blade Runner. Blade Runner was technically well made but it was boring as hell.

what? :o

I agree with Dex. Apart from The Dark Knight and one or two others, Blade Runner is one of the most overrated films in history.
