a sequal to John Milius’ version? im not really waiting for that

Yeah, I tried to watch The Destoryer recently and just lost interest… But knowing Rob’s films so far I think he’s able to do this type of film justice it’s perfect for him. Would Arnie be interested in doing another Conan? Would It clash with IB? doubtfull, again knowing Rob this will probly be released in 6 months. Could Rob convince Arnie to be in IB… shit he’ll pay him a dollar! Ergh I just had a bad feeling… Please, Please, Please Do Not Let Me Hear ‘The Rock’ announced or even metioned for this movie!

haha, either The Rock or Vin Diesel are in my book of possible nominees, but Arnie can have it, as long as he stays away from IB, i dont want him near it

I said it before I read it…

“Cast Notes: (7/31/03) IGN FilmForce reported last week that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s top choice to play Kon, Conan’s adopted son, is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, although no official negotiations have started with The Rock.

this is before RR was onto it tho please reconsider!

Based Upon: (7/31/03) This movie will be the third film in the series that began with Conan the Barbarian in 1982 and Conan the Destroyer. Those movies were loosely based upon the character of Conan of Cimmeria as he originally appeared in early 20th century pulp magazine stories and novellas by Robert E. Howard (1906-1936), which were later collected as twelve paperback books, and starting in the 1970s, (partly) adapted in comic book form in two different titles published by Marvel Comics (which also featured new stories not written by Howard). Curiously, none of those original eleven books were called ‘Conan the Barbarian,’ ‘Conan the Destroyer,’ or ‘King Conan’ (though he was a king in the last few books). Of course, those twelve books were only partly written by Robert E. Howard, with L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter filling in gaps from Howard’s original stories, outlines or notes. Besides the movies his work has inspired, Robert E. Howard himself was the focus of the 1996 Renee Zellweger/Vincent D’Onofrio romantic drama, The Whole Wide World.

This could all change… No doubt he will stick close to the original.

also another article confirming:

I’m not that happy to heard that it’s confirmed ! :-</E> It’s not a good idea, I think. Even more, if it looks like any classic conan with Schwarzie, and even more the Rock ! Forget it Rodriguez ! Just an advice. The only good point, is that, yeah, it could put Arnold away from IM ! Or not if Rodriguez convince him :-</E>

If they’re basing it on the books, in this instalment Conan is fat and slobbish. He has a son, blah blah blah. Maybe they’ll make it all new and Conan a nice red hairdoo… 8)

Conan sucks. I remember I used to watch Conan series when I was a kid, then it seemed great, there were skulls and gore and everything as I recall. But actually it’s a crappy cheap adventure piece of shit. Haha I’m being too pesimistic, but I’ve lost faith in Rodriguez after hearing of this sequel. Sequels suck.

Hey could be worse… they could think of getting ‘Triple-H’

http://www.moviehole.net/news/5547.html

the acting in conan sucks something awful. It is practically a collection of teh world’s worst actors.

Why doesn’t he just make his own friggin fantasy film. This sequel/remake trend is retarded.

I don’t trust Rodriguez after Sin City and such fucked up projects like Spy Kids. I don’t care whatever he makes and I am not going to see this Conan sequel, just to spite him.

Bleach
I don’t trust Rodriguez after Sin City
You didn’t like Sin?

No.

whats fun about the old Conan flicks is that they’re so incredabily camp and corny…but theyre not exactley what I’d think of as movies worth re-doing :-</E>

plus I am completley over comic book hereo movies…been one to many crappy attempts in that genre for my liking…

I’m sure you’ll greatly impact the ticket sales man. Expect a signed apology from Robert when Conan comes out. He’ll really be crushed that you’re not going to see it man.

That’s only symbolic.

That’s fucked up “you don’t trust Rodriguez”?, I’m sure he’s quivering in his boots. Spy Kids is a successful kids movie proving he is able to manage commerical kids stuff, where as Sin City is a violent, dark work of marvels. The man has a lot of variety.

Only one man can play Conan:

I’m gonna miss schwarzenegger in this flick

He was the real Conan

But I trust Rodriguez…But you can’t pick Diesel for Conan, the guy has some muscles, but conan has ALL muscles.
