Picked this up at newstands today:

Five paged interview with Tarantino; he disses Zemeckis and discusses how he wrote DEATH PROOF.

There’s going to be an expanded version on the website in the next few weeks.

haha, i wanna know what he said about Zemeckis.

that’s awesome he did a first itw with Creative screenwriting (when jackie Brown was released) that was just great

I thought him and Bob Zemeckis were friends?

he talked quite a few time about zemeckis basically saying when he wrote his own scripts, he was great but that he don’t anymore he sucks (more or less ) In 1994 there were a crossed interview between the two of them that was great (can’t seem to remember where i read it though) and at one point they started discuss WWII movies and QT gave a couple of thoughts about how he could do a Dirty Dozen WWII kind of film… (i think they mentionned Sgt Fury as well at some point). Great stuff!

Ive heard him say that about Zemeckis before actually. He always talks about writer-directors who started out doin great stuff then they sorta fell off the log. At least with QT we know he will NEVER do that. He thinks about it so much it seems.

I know he loved Used Cars, so I dont think its that he doesnt like Bob Z, hes just dissapointed that he stopped doing his own stuff.

Yeah, it’s not so much dissing Zemeckis, as being disappointed in him losing his authorial voice with films like CONTACT and CASTAWAY (which he both mentions by name). Personally, I think it’s not just a case of Zemeckis not writing his own stuff, but not writing along with his former writing partner Bob Gale.

If anybody’s interested, I could probably scan this later today.

JT that would be most excellent if you could. Thanks very much in advance!

Ok, got 'em all scanned, just don’t know how to put them up on here. Is there anyone I could email them to, in order to do this?

Do people actually read “creative screenwriting?”. Who are their advertisers? How do they profit from broke dicks?

We’re reading it now  And the interview is good so nothing against that. But I guess you’re right. Who’s going to read it when it doesn’t have a QT interview.

Last time I bought it (before the current Tarantino issue) was when Robert Towne graced the covers, big cigar in hand, in 2003.

Thanks very much for scanning this Jelle!! 8)

It was JT who scanned it. I just put it online.

Thanks JT!!
