I wrote to a publicist in America to inquire about this book and was informed that it was postponed, with no new pub date announced as yet.

thanks to the Grind House Forum…

doesn’t look like much of a review but definitely interesting. I will pick up the book, read it over christmas and post a review then

It finally has a cover! With praise from QT himself! I’m definitely picking this one up as soon as possible.

Love the cover! I’d love to hear more about this.

I hope David sticks to the creative aspects of how Kill Bill was made and steers clear from any salacious gossip about the cast/crew. From what I hear, they all became this huge family on set and worked very hard, but partied a lot harder. While I would love to be a fly on the wall, I’d like to know about how all the cast/crew worked together etc.

Only Quentin could do a film using multiple translators.

nice. too bad I can’t seem to find a good email adress to write Harper for a review sample… they only have a fax number, but I don’t have any sheets with a logo or anything on it or something like that

ok guys it’s out, get it while it’s hot. please use our links

What do you mean “it’s out”? Did you get a copy already? Amazon.com says November 1st.

oops my mistake

“Hot” meaning someone stole an advanced copy, ehh? These kids and their hip lingo. I can never keep up.

Get it while its cold!

My copy should arrive in 2 weeks.

everyone please post review once you’ve read it.

If you write a full-page review it will make the front-page

OK, so I’m only a few pages into the book, and I don’t know if any of the people from this thread:

…who were interested in the book are reading, but OK:

Like I said I haven’t read much but already I can say some things: It’s unpretentious, it’s personal, and it’s also a funny read so far.

You’ll get to know some interesting facts you won’t get anywhere else (the whole Warren Beatty thing, the Vivica Fox mutiny, who was originally going to play Esteban, etc.) And it’s just awesome hearing Carradine talk about QT.

There is so much stuff that deserves a direct quote on the first few pages alone.

Already I can say that this is a must get for the KB fans.

One passage that particularily stunned and surprised me:
Lawrence Beder tells Gayle [David’s Manager] no one is taking any money for the film. They’re all working for scale or double-scale. Warren was. Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu, Vivica Fox - they’re all willing to work for nothing, just for the chanche to be in a Tarantino film. He reminds us what a great opportunity this is, how much Pulp Fiction did for Travolta, all that."
Wow. From what I understood only Uma got paid?? What does scale, double-scale mean anyway? Is that minimum salary or something?

Anyway, loving it.

Yeah I have had the book for about 2 days, and I love it so far.

Does it cover the whole period of the making of kill bill or is it just from Carradine’s perspective? I would like to get it but only if it has a lot of info on the film other than what David had to eat on his first day of shooting. Is it a “Kill Bill book” or just a Bill book?

i’ll probably get it for christmas. i skimmed through it at barnes and noble. it has nice photographs and i bet my ass i’ll love it. just 11 bucks, come on, for a kill bill fan a no-brainer

You’re right. I love Carradine anyway so it will be cool. I am just wanting a comprehensive Kill Bill book so bad that I’m anxious to know if this will cover allot. 8)
