Will Volume 2 be nominated for an Oscar?

Since there are many rumors that Tarantino wants to (and in all likelyhood will) cut both Volumes together later this year, will Volume 2 be nominated for an Oscar? Or will it be both Volumes combined?

I think it’s just volume 2. Because if they did both, then that would mean volume 1 would be in there again, and that shit’s like double jeopardy…you can’t register a movie for awards twice.

or can you? I dont know the rules

I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the combined film. Maybe that’s why it didn’t receive any Oscar nominations for 2003.

no offense, but if your expecting a movie of the year award your only fooling yourself. if your expecting kill bill to win awards watch the mtv movie awards, not the oscars. afterall, it was the mtv movie awards that awarded pulp fiction for movie of the year, then QT gave a speech about forrest gump whipping his ass in all the other award cerimonies.

No it won’t be nominated. And who cares anyway. The Oscars don’t deserve Kill Bill.

SO TRUE!!

I doubt it. I’m betting this year is gonna be either Martin Scorsese’s or Oliver Stone’s big year.

Uma and Carradine have a shot, and maybe QT, but no best picture probably.

Let’s not forget the Road Evangelist Mel Gibson.

Photography, editing and sound still deserve to get on oscar (at least). It’s so incredibly good. No matter what genre this is. I guess this is a main reason why it’ll be edited together for a theatrical release in autumn(hint, hint…).

I guarantee someone from Vol 2 will be nominated for an Oscar.

Why wont QT be nominated for Best Director? Everyone raves about his movies. What the fuck is the Oscars about?

$$$$$$$ and even more $$$$$$

Oliver Stone for Alexander or Martin Scorsese for The Aviator? Hmm… I don’t think so. There will be two Alexander movies, and both will suck (the other is made by the Moulan Rouge director, who ALSO blows ass), and Martin Scorsese hasn’t done anything worth talking about in 15 years or so.

Their time has passed.

However, rottentomatos.com has 100% good reviews of Kill Bill Vol. 2, which is incredibly rare. Everyone is a fan, and, even though there are only 15 reviews at RT so far, it’s an impressive feat. Look for a few nominations at the oscars. Vol. 1 was a dark horse for some nominations, and it wasn’t even recieved as well as Vol. 2 is.

Haha! I don’t think so!!

The Oscars are so motherfuckin’ predictable they’re disgusting. Want to know who will win Best Picture next year? The answer is TROY.

Check back 10 months from now to see my prediction come to life.

Troy won’t make the cut. Its being released too far away from when the big Oscar contenders start coming out. Brad Pitt might get thrown one of those “honorary” nominations (you know, where an actor gets it, but knows damn well he/she won’t win) like Johnny Depp received last year, but that’ll be about it. Mark my words, Martin Scorsese.

I hated Gangs of New York, but maybe he’ll redeem himself with this one. And anyone that says he hasn’t made anything good in fifteen years? Casino, bitch! Its only going on ten!

Troy aint gonna come close to being nominated, and The Aviator will get a nom but definitely won’t win.

Michael Mann + Tom Cruise = Oscar

not to mention the fact that Collateral is gonna blow everyone away

Okay, I forgot about casino.

And Mann + Cruise… no.

Fucking Michael Mann and Jerry Bruckheimer. I hate them so.

Colateral would stand a chance, I admit… if it weren’t for the supporting cast.

And The Aviator… no.

Kill Bill Vol. 2 is getting some of the best reviews I’ve ever heard. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are some acting categories it gets nominated for, the writing, the cinematography, perhaps editing, etc. Note: I didn’t say ‘win’ I said ‘nominated’.

Don’t like too many people do we?  :stuck_out_tongue:

I HAVE THE ANSWERS

Kill Bill Vol1 and Vol2 are 1 movie. We have only seen the first half of the movie, that’s why it didn’t get nominated for anything this year at the Oscars. When Vol2 comes out, the Academy will consider the movie completed and judge based on the completed work. I have a good feeling Kill Bill is going to take home an Oscar for almost every category this year. Just you wait and see.

Mr. Tarantino is a nut job and we should award him for it. In a sence, aren’t we all nut jobs though? If that’s the case, where the hell is my reward?
