The floor is yours dear Quentin fans and self-appointed film experts…

I havent read all these articles yet, but I have to agree with your asessment on the frontpage. Why would these people complain about The Weinsteins and QTs relationship? The Weinsteins arent perfect as we know, but they support QT 100% and stand by him even after Grindhouse didnt do well. Noone should tell QT to do anything. Until he feels its time to move on, its noone elses place to talk. These kinds of editorials are really pointless to me.

I’m not sure I really understood the articles (if you wanna call them that). They have this “we wanna criticize you, but remember we’re fans, be nice to us!” written all over them.

Wow talk about talking shit and then trying be nice…what a asshole. To my knowledge the weinsteins haven’t tried to stop QT from “creating” have they? As far as QTs And Weinsteins releationship go, I think its stronger than ever. Plus this article is a couple of days old, so maybe someone should tell em that they have been picked up by TWC.

what do you mean by that?

In the article it says “I hear it’s gone out to Universal, Warner Bros., Paramount … and Sony” I’m just saying someone should tell them that The Weinsteins are officially doing IB.

Well, you said “tell them that they have been picked up by TWC”, which implies that you are talking about 1 party of people instead of 2. That’s where the misunderstanding started.

The grammar police strikes again!

Sorry…

Yeah, well I abbreviate sometimes. Instead of using them I say “EM”. Sorry about that

I think you misunderstood the whole thing. The Weinsteins alone aren’t doing it, at least not internationally, they seem to have been looking for a partner company, so they shopped the script to these studios in search for a partner.

But from my last news entry you’ll see that it might have gone to Miramax.

Oh I see what your saying…I kind of read bits and pieces of it, so I missed a few things. Sorry about that. I kind of knew that Miramax was gonna do IB just didn’t know about the other part. Thanks. On a side note I have alot of respect for the weinsteins, remember The Burning?

on a sidenote, one thing people shouldn’t mix up are the Weinsteins, The Weinstein Company and Miramax. With the Weinsteins having run Miramax till including Kill Bill, then parting ways and founding The Weinstein Company, but now possibly partnering up again with Miramax for Inglorious Bastards

Didn’t know about them parting ways, thanks for making me feel like a goofball  j/k.

haha somebody’s been sleeping under a rock the last couple of years

haha yeah!

an interesting article about TWC:

for those interested in the money side of cinema

oh Moriarty… he really got personal on this one

Moriarty's Open Letter To Harvey Weinstein Regarding Howard McCain's Groovy Viking/Alien...

not a fan of harvey weinstein. heard from an industry insider that he buries 4 out of every 5 movies he buys just so he can control the market. i know most studios do this but he’s defininetly not the saviour of indie movies that some claim him to be.

that might be. yet with the success of Miramax he clearly changed hollywood a bit. i have yet to read biskind’s book on the subject, but that would probably be a very interesting read

he did this at some point because he had the power to do so but not really anymore… and he is not the saviour of indie movies, he invented the 90s indie films… he was the first producer to market indie films as if they were blockbuster. this was a pretty smart move (hum pulp fiction…) without miramax no sony classics or paramount vantage…

i have to admit he’s had an impact on the industry in terms of bringing some original material to a wider audience and he’s definitely no worse than the other studio heads. At the top end of the scale and even mid level of the scale its a business full of horrible people.
