Jackie Brown COMPLETED soundtrack

I was scouring the internet for a completed Jackie Brown soundtrack containing all of the songs NOT on the cd. Sure enough I found a fan-made compilation right here on the forum(except in Spanish) and no good link since it was posted in late '95. Would anyone out there happen to have it and be gracious enough to upload it again? I’m so close to completing my own edition and would LOVE to get this. And as a show of good faith to my dear fellow fans…here is the link to my very own FULLY EXTENDED soundtrack to Death Proof containing EVERY last song included in the movie and several bonuses. Enjoy this one Sebastian. I hope you see this!

I have the complete soundtrack to JB, let me know if you want to trade songs with each other.

Well alright! I have all of the songs that are listed in the end credits of the movie; what i don’t have is the few occurrences that aren’t. Namely …

  1. The tune when Max follows Simone out of the mall and gets her plate number.

  2. The background music in the Del-Amo mall.

  3. The theme to Chicks Who Love Guns.

I did isolate these pieces to the best of my ability to listen to dialogue and effects free, but they’re not perfect. The one that really gets me is the pretty piece used when Max follows Simone. It’s almost too good to just be production music and it’s played so prominently that I can’t believe it’s not listed in the credits. Knowing QT it could be score to an old movie, but it’s anyone’s guess. Thanks for any help!

heyy shane im new but i visited this page for years and i never knew that it had this kind of boards so sorry if im a lame-ass i have a question im looking the complete jackie brown like you said i have a made by myself but i lost it so im im asking myself if you have it can you put a link or something? and thanks for the death proof mix!! it was fucking AWESOME seriously i have a lot of extra songs dowloaded by myself but is great to have here a lot of people that share the same feeling with Q and make that kind of things, if you have it please let me know or sendme a link.

It’s a piece of production music called Bahia Baby, published by Sonoton Music.

The credits read thus: Wolfgang Kaltenbach / Lyrics: Walt Rockman (which is odd as I can’t hear any words). The CD it’s currently on is SCD261 Martini Lounge. In recent years Sonoton have delved into their archive and reissued pieces, but I can’t find a date for the original recording (though it sounds 1970s-ish).

I didn’t even notice the piece in the cinema, but I watched Jackie Brown on Sunday and thought “I know this piece”. I was sure it had been played with the BBC Test Card, but I can’t find any records for that happening, at least pre-1982) though it did accompany Pages From Ceefax on BBC-2 overnight a few years ago.

Hope that helps!

That’s VERY interesting! I’d have sure never figured it out without you- that’s for sure! I sure wish there was a way I could listen to it, let alone by it. My searches all lead to dead ends for it. Would you know of any way to acquire it?

I did isolate the song as much as I could from the dvd 5.1 track and it doesn’t sound bad, but it trails off much and has other mall sound effects in the background. It’ll be a bonus track on my compilation and will be posted sometime in the near future at my friends blog - http://theinfernomusicvault.blogspot.com/

Thanks for sharing the info, and here’s hoping we find the track!

Hopefully this will work:

Woof!

MAN, thank you! That is amazing to me how you could’ve picked that out and you even had it! I NEVER thought i’d get to hear it outside the movie! It makes my day! There’s a few other songs played in the background during the mall scenes too. Here’s a link to check em out.

Maybe your acute musical ear could pick out these other tunes as well. You’ll notice the track i labeled “Del-Amo Mall Music 2” starts with “Bahia Baby” and then changes to another song. I’m thinking it’s quite possible that it’s also from Sonoton or at least a very similar compilation of production music.

I know Tarantino used production music from the Ole Georg catalog of music for Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs. I contacted the company to try and acquire the songs, but they told me they’ve never sold to collectors, only movie-makers, and i’d have to talk to Ole Georg himself about it. I didn’t pursue it any harder after that because I figured even if they would sell me the songs it wouldn’t be for the 89 cents a song i like to pay! But you never know! I may try again someday.

Have fun listening to the songs and please be sure to help me identify anymore if you can! Thanks again SO much.

Ta for those - took me ages as I was looking in the wrong place. The other tunes are from the KPM library.

One of them, Time For Romance (the one from the Del Amo 2 file) has featured in loads of films, apparently. The version used here was Time For Romance (a), and is currently on KPM525CD. The composer is John Anthony.

The 2 other tracks (I could only hear 3 in total!) were Off The Shelf & Quality Assured, both composed by Dick Walter and on KPM246CD.

Woof!

OMG! Screw my day man, THIS MAKES MY WEEK! You are a remarkable man, sir. I don’t know how you did it, but I am shocked beyond belief first- that you were able to identify these instrumental, often muddled, recordings and second that YOU HAD THEM! I’ve found alot of rare mp3 gold across the internet in my time and this ranks up there with the very best. Once again, thank you SO much.

This leaves only one unknown song in the movie. It’s from the scene where Max follows Simone out to her car and gets the license number. It’s played very prominently in the movie, yet isn’t listed in the end credits. I always thought that it was perhaps from an old movie’s score since this is the movie where QT started doing that, but now I’m thinking that this could possibly be production music as well. Give me a listen and tell me if this one sounds familiar yet…

And while I’ve got you here, I just thought i’d list these yet. Just in case you’d ever find yourself with access to production music from Capitol/Ole Georg (OGM). These were in Reservoir Dogs…

  1. “Wes Turned Country” - written by Nikki Bernard

  2. “Country’s Cool” - written by Peter Morris

  3. “It’s Country” - written by Henrik Nielsen

    and one in Pulp Fiction…

  4. “Coffee Shop Music”

As a diehard QT soundtrack fan for years now, these have become like a holy grail to me to find. Thank you poppypuppy for bringing me one step closer.

I’ll do my best.

Well, I’ve found “Wes Turned Country” & “It’s Country”. The only Peter Morris I can find (and it’s manky quality) is “Country Dreams”.

I’ll keep looking, but I need to stack some Zs now.

Woof!

Woof!

The Max following Simone piece is again from KPM246, and by Dick Walter. Piano Impromptu:

The other films may take time. Can you PM me?

Woof!

You’re doing great work poppypuppy, do you know the piano sequence in the back ground of when wolf is on the phone in Pulp Fiction? And if you could find Coffee Shop Music that would be awesome.

It’s Country by Henrik Nielsen is played in the coffee shop in Pulp Fiction, I think Quentin mixed various production songs and just called it “Coffee Shop Music”. Theres also a mexican/spainish piece used when Pumpkin charges out the cheifs for a few seconds, and also a country sounding piece when Vincent is on the toliet in the coffee shop.

What’s the Piano Sequence when Ray and Jackie go out to dinner?

Ah! I can’t believe I missed those!

Poppypuppy, if you’re still reading, here’s samples to the tunes LoneMutt is referring to…

And about “Coffee Shop Music”, i’ve noticed the inconsistencies myself. Sometimes it sounds like easy listening and then it’s country and then it’s mariachi. Being that there is no clear artist in the credits for it even does make me tend to agree it’s production music that’s been lumped up. Things that make you go hmmmm…

Thanks Shane, these will do until the originals are found

Sorry - been away!

If I get time I’ll have a look.

Woof!

Poppypuppy my man! Everytime we talk i’m thanking you up and down and begging for more, so ONCE AGAIN, at the high risk of becoming a pest, thanks for taking the time to help! I was thinking there could be a good chance the “Jackie Has Dinner” track could be more from KPM246 Dick Walter, but that would be for you to decide. AND THEN THAT would truly be the last unknown song in the movie.

And then there’s a small piece in Kill Bill Vol. 1 that no one’s ever been able to find and it plays here…

The track is called “Armundo” by David Allen Young.

I know different people who would be tickled pink to have it. Feel free to take your time. I hope it’s as much fun for you to find these as it is for me to request!

David Allen Young is a guy who gets hired for scores to ad’s or small projects, the biggest he’s probably even done was Armundo. So we’re never gonna find that, unless someone can completely remove the dialogue, which Uma is talking right over it, so thats out of the game. Country’s Cool, I’m trying to look it up. poppypuppy, I’m no good to finding these rare production tunes, We need your help. :stuck_out_tongue:
