Scarface makes a point. He's so fucking busy, we'll be lucky if we get a commentary for the two-fer edition...

hey scar: "it's getting harder to be someone but it all works out....it doesn't matter much to me....LET ME TAKE YOU DOWN CUZ IM GOING TO..."

"...Strawberry Fields, Nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about, STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER". The Beatles are GODS  8).

Tarantino recently had an interview with Film & Video Magazine (http://www.digitalproducer.com/2003/12_ ... antino.htm)
In the interview he said;
"F&V: How did you work with Bob on the look and visual style of the film?

We didn’t really change the film stocks that much in Vol. 1. We did that in Vol. 2, big time, where the whole opening sequence is in high-contrast black-and-white. The black-and-white that’s in Vol. 1, I wanted to do it on color stock so we could take the color out, as it stays in color for the Asian market and goes to black-and-white for Europe and America. I thought that’d be fun for the DVD later..."
So it looks like we probably will see the Asian version here in the US.

what i didnt like about the black and white sequence is that it was just color w/ the color taken out. everything was a lot darker and harder to see that way  >:(

I noticed that too. Because it was done like that, the blood looked like water. The blood in a real B&W movie, say, Schindler's List, looked real and of dark color.

No. I doubt they would have an English track on the jap version. Seriously, why would they? I mean it could be possible, but if they did that would mean anyone could just import the dvd instead of getting the regular cut-down amercian version. The reason why we have different languages on our dvd's is because in our region people also speak french and spanish. In Asia's dvd region, they only speak cantonese, japanese, and so on. So there would be no reason to include english. I could be wrong, but thats how I see it

Are you sure those are Region 3 imports? Because if they are, that was a waste, Criterian has amazing DVDs of all those, in original languages, and English subs.

I decided for some weeks to see jap. movies (have only chineses) and it´s not easy to get them here.  I read a lot about them in this forum and thought it´s time to get more information.. Fortunally Pantsman and Bullet give me some good recommondations which ones would be good to see. So I started with Ringu and stuff like this.
But it´s so fucking expensive to get them all.  See, I wanted the movies above all UNCUT and CHEAP... It took so much time to find cheap way´s to get them. The most I find for my region. Some not.
e.g. Samurai Fiction: They offered it for more than 25 $ but at the end I  found a corean version (with english text) for 1,95 € (less than 2 $! ;D). What can be bad with that? It ´s my first deep experience with these jap. Movies and there are so much movies to see  :o...

btw. I wrote it here only to underline, that I think that the jap. version of KB will have  english tracks. But I pray for a DVD from my region that included the jap. scenes..

I just hope it is not dubbed. I mean I was watching The Killer last night dubbed and it's translation is messed up.

"He really is a mad dog" (subtitles)

Translates too

"MOTHER FUCKER" (dubbed)

Might well be, because the Scandinavian release specs are more or less the same. But I believe there are minor variations between versions. In Scandinavia there are trailers for RD, PF & JB also, which to me is totally irrelevant crap for Kill Bill release, especially when all of these trailers have been included on those films' own DVD's. Then again, we all knew that this woluld be a bare-bones-release, so it's no suprise.

Why not "Woo Hoo" by the 5,6,7,8's? That's their best!  :D

I know that the bootleg trailers are gonna be on the dvd. Check out killbill2.net, I think they got the specs there.

We probably all have to buy the SE for the fuckin trivia track.  >:(

If Quentin doesn't give us a full audio commentary for the SE, mark my words: I will go apeshit. Trivia track? What the fuck? That's the worst thing I've seen since Virtual Boy.

Trivia tracks rock, but you end up concentrating more on reading them instead of watching the film. Oh I got the information from http://play.com/play247.asp?page=title& ... 57&c=&g=72 That's the region 2 version.

Region 1 release confirms a trivia track

DVDempire is reliable on info, but where are the trailers and 5,6,7,8 performances?
