It’s okay if you decided not to pick the most famous track of some of those artists, like why Nowhere to Run from Martha and the Vandellas ? Not her best. Or you could have name some others by Dylan (though I love I Want You), Like a Rolling Stone is the best song ever written, not included in your list. No other tracks by The Animals. No I really Got You by The Kinks. No other tracks by The Clash. And so on.
THOUGH it’s a very bad mistake NOT to include Marvin Gaye masterpiece, however ultra famous it is. Sexual healing is one of the best song EVER. Noone can be beat that.
Well these lists and any list in general is always compromising. And Max has an exquisite taste so I think the spirit of the songs he didn’t choose is safely incorporated in the ones he did choose.
