But what's weird is that it's only THAT board.  :(  The only one I really NEED to go to.  And I hate not being able to just use this browser to go to it.

Um, Windows XP just got a Windowsupdate message a few minutes ago so I'm gonna try that, I've got the latest version of FireFox 3, computer's about four years old or so and I'm not really sure about the specs.

Everytime I've had a problem this major with firefox i've had to completely uninstall it then reinstall which is always a pain in the ass. Is there a way to save my bookmarks and passwords first?

The windows update just finished and told me that internet explorer 7 is available but I chose not to install it. As soon as it was done it told me that there's another update to be done. Anyway if updating windows doesn't work I'm just gonna bite the bullet and to a uninstall/reinstall.

This is by far the most annoying problem I've encountered. It's just a natural instinct for me to use that google toolbar and everytime I do I lose everything else I was doing. The weirdest part though is that it seems to only be google and yahoo. Webcrawler works just fine but it's a pretty shitty engine.

EDIT: Did the windows update and things work fine now. It looks like google updated and it was no longer compatible with my pc. not sure why it would freeze up like that though.

btw Internet Explorer 8 is out now.

I haven't deeply tested it yet, I've read it FINALLY adhers to web standards. The interface didnt convince me, it still looks like windows 98 or something...

I'm currently working with Firefox 3.1 beta 3, and that's the fastest browser I've seen so far. Currently there's no browser out there that can compete with it, in so many ways...

I am not able to try Chrome with my Mac. I have been using Safari. I use Firefox on the occasion that a particular site will not work properly with Safari. Thanks to macnuke's vote of confidence, I have installed iCab and now trying it out. I had not heard of iCab before, but it seems to run without any issues.

What do you guys say aboout Chrome, also I noticed there's a lot of people using Opera instead of Firefox. What is all that about?

Firefox all the way down. Flexibility it gives...number of addons I can have - no competition here. However - if one just wants to "surf internet" and does not have deeper requirements/knowledge Opera/Chrom can do it too.
