Robert De Niro vs Al Pacino

Whos a better actor? I would say Robert De Niro. What do you think?

Body of films that I like, De Niro easy.

Though nothing against Pacino, just like more De Niro films. Doesn’t mean he is a better actor, it’s just he took better career choices in the 90’s I guess. 8)

i pretty much agree…Deniro is just so damn versatile…he’s been falling off a little lately though

De Niro hasnt really had big roles lately. Meet The Parents was good but the last proper role he had was in Ronin back in 98.

We already had that discussion somewhere. Even lately, De Niro must be better than Al Pacino since he doesn’t star in The Devil’s Advocate. I’ll never forgive him for accepting this role.

But yeah, I also prefer De Niro, although Al Pacino shines in The Godfather. And yes, as Movie Villain said, I think De Niro is more versatile.

Because she’s got a GREAT ASS!

Pacino all the way!

Really? hmmm. Interesting. Could you care to answer why? I love Pacino and when he is on, no one can match him, but I just think De Niro had a more successful body of work, though Pacino had the bigger (Godfather, Scarface).

I think overall De Niro takes the cake, because he is so versatile. I really believe he could do any role he would be asked to do. Pacino is more specialized, but his best roles mostly beat De Niro’s best.

That I agree with 100%. Like I said Godfather and Scarface will most likely beat Taxi Driver and Casino. But De Niro also has Deer Hunter, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Jackie Brown,The King Of Comedy, etc. Pacino's best is better than De Niro's, but De Niro has a bigger collection of great films.

Well, (sorry but…) I never really liked De Niro. I mean he’s a good actor but he’s quite predictible, I seem to always know how he’s going to act but with Al Pacino, it’s always a different person in every movie, for instance if we compare Scarface and this movie where he played a blind guy (i can’t remember the title right now) I think he did very different persormances. he’s great.

Pacino is a better actor but De Niro has had better roles.

that’s true

Young Pacino (Panic in Needle Park, Godfather,Godfather 2, Dog Day Afternoon, …And Justice for All, Cruising) is better than young De Niro (Mean Streets, Godfather 2, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, King of Comedy), though De Niro clearly made better movies…The movies were not better for De Niro necessarily, though. He worked with better directors than Pacino.

Old Pacino (Dick Tracy, Glengarry Glenn Ross, Scent of a Woman) is definitely not as good as Old Deniro (Awakenings, Cape Fear, Goodfellas, Casino).

Present day: They both suck. Righteous Kill was horrible but Pacino was better than De Niro in it for sure.

Neither of them are as good as Marlon Brando.

Pacino is god. De Niro is a demi-god.

I beg to differ. DeNiro is god’s god. While Pacino is a very good actor.

Al Pacino is probably my favourite actor of all time, so obviously I think he’s the better one. I always kinda thought De Niro is a little overrated. I mean, he’s a good actor and all and I love his movies, but all his roles are pretty much the same.

I can’t say really, I’ll call it a draw
