Here´s the story:
MARTIN CAMPBELL TO DIRECT CASINO ROYALE,
THE 21ST JAMES BOND ADVENTURE
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the James Bond films, and MGM announced today that Martin Campbell will direct CASINO ROYALE, the 21st film in the 007 franchise.
This is Campbell’s second time as helmer of a James Bond film. In 1995 he directed the hit GOLDENEYE which introduced Pierce Brosnan to the role of 007 with great success.
Wilson and Broccoli said: “We are thrilled that Martin has accepted our offer to direct CASINO ROYALE. He is an extremely talented director and we believe he will help take our films in a new and exciting direction. He is currently finishing filming ‘Legend Of Zorro’, the sequel to ‘The Mask Of Zorro’, and will be joining EON Productions shortly to work on the development of the script with our writers, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.�
MGM Vice Chairman and COO Chris McGurk said: “Martin is an incredibly exciting filmmaker. GOLDENEYE was a wonderful movie and helped reinvigorate the Bond franchise. We’re thrilled to have him back to direct the newest Bond.�
Born in New Zealand, Campbell moved to England in 1966 and made his directorial debut on the popular TV series’ ‘The Professionals’ and ‘Minder’. He moved to America in 1986 to direct ‘Criminal Law’ and ‘Defenceless’. Following GOLDENEYE, he went on to direct ‘The Mask Of Zorro’, ‘Vertical Limit’ and ‘Beyond Borders’ and is currently directing ‘Legend Of Zorro’.
CASINO ROYALE will be released in 2006 and distributed world-wide by MGM. No decision has yet been made regarding casting for the role of ‘James Bond’.
The French teaser for Casino Royale is up. It looks pretty interesting. One problem: the trailer is in French.

Why is it in French? Didin’t Paul Haggis write the screenplay?
The leaked trailer is dubbed in French. I guess it was taken off of French television. I don’t know why they would decide to kick start promotion in France as opposed to Britain and America, but there it is.
Looks very promising. . .I saw Paul Haggis in the Craig Furgeson show saying that he would omit most of the gadgets, at least most of them. Paul Haggis is just a fantastic screenwriter, I love his work.
The fights in the opening black and white segments were brutal and awesome.
Goddamn, I am drooling. Everytime a Bond film comes out I get that much happier. This one looks to be what I was hoping. The black and white stuff looked awesome too.
And why the hell is the topic called Casino Royal? There is an e on the end dammit.
The coolest part is that the black and white scenes aren’t the result of stylish editing for the trailer, they are supposedly in the finished movie. The begining of movie is said to open with Bond being initiated as 00 agent; in order to get his rank, he has to kill three people in cold blood. So the whole opening sequence is in black and white and it cuts to color after he receives 007 status. Simply awesome.

Yeah, I was hoping they would put that in. It was cool in the book. Cause at the start he didn’t even answer to M. He answered to the head of his station.

i am actually diappointed about that QT doesnt do the DirectorJob ,i think Brosnan+QT+Casino Royale would have been a great movie.But now we have to see what Daniel Craig+Martin Campbell show us…

Haha that line actually made me laugh. Bond compares himself to a monk, even though he fucks every kind of pussy he can lay his hands on.
It looks promising though. 8)

It looks pretty OK. The images itself are great but the editing of the trailer sort of sucks. The review I read of the script was what made me really crazy about this film(I even forgot reading everything I can about Grind House for a minut 
)

Haha, that’s right, it sounds stupid as hell, I actually have no idea why he said that.
Anywho, the reason I posted is this: who else thinks Daniel Craig is going to be a GREAT Bond? Everyone I ask seems to hate him, while I believe (and only after seeing the trailer) that he’s way better and appropriate. Frankly I can’t stand the Bond image following old Brosnan, looks more like some fancy investment banker to me, plus all the invisible cars and other bullshit. I’ve always been an admirer of the old films where James Bond is actually a SPY. Ask a kid nowadays, what’s James Bond, you’ll see what old Hollywood has done with his image.
I think that Daniel Craig is going to be a superb Bond and I think Casino Royale is going to be better than any Brosnan Bond movie.
