Women in Django

So, in pretty much every other Tarantino film there is a strong female character of some sort (even in reservoir dogs Mr.White says “Waitressing is the number one occupation for female noncollege graduates in this country. It’s the one job basically any woman can get and make a living on”, which is not the most feminist expression I’ve ever heard but it’s clearly conscious to the issue). In Django there are none.

Personally, I think the reason for that is that Tarantino was simply trying to present reality as it was, in the sense that when slavery and racism against black people were on the line, no one talked yet about women rights.

If he’d ignored that, and address woman equality in a film about slavery, it’d imply that everything we don’t talk about is OK, which is not.

Am I over thinking this?
