After I read that chapter a long time ago I’ve often wondered how the old 40s projection models were operated, and I found this great interesting video on youtube that tells you how to operate a 1940 Carbon Arc Lamp Projector 8)
It’s a great video to see in order to understand how films were shown back then, and as it is described in the screenplay, this video uses the same methods.

That’s so damn cool. I’d love to do that, just one night, hold a screening and be the projectionist all old school. like this. So great that we get to see it in Inglourious Basterds.
