Make no mistake, this is Landa’s film.
Absolutely. I think a lot knew of people that. I think the opening’s going to be the best, pity it’s so short. The reviews are confirming what I feared unfortunately.

Another one, mate
Acting-wise, no one disappoints – even if Pitt and the American contingent are acted off the screen by the exceptional scene-stealing Christoph Waltz
I said that too

Just read that one there now.

Eli is not favoured much… and you called that one, Kinick.

haha Yeah, just me.

good review, although not very positive

And people wondered why I worried when I read the script: <LINK_TEXT text=“/Film | Reporting the Reel World … -basterds/”>/Film | Reporting the Reel World</LINK_TEXT> (lot of mixed reactions compiled here, good and poor)

Empire’s been the best yet. Total Film’s were both mixed.

What’s alot of what you feared? My fear was that people would find it boring. More than a few of the reviews have mentioned how much talking there is but that’s a common occurrence with his flicks. I still havn’t the read the word “boring” yet though which is great.

My personnel stance has been since I read the script was that it was a wonderful piece of writing. Alot of these reviews are telling me that it didn’t reach that same sort of greatness once translated to the screen. This is an interesting precursor to August.

At the moment, reviews are leaning towards negative over positive.

Hollywood Reporter calls it “disappointing” <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con … ef9f8a94c6”>http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i7ee3d207fbb1fda3adadf0ef9f8a94c6</LINK_TEXT>

"where you’d expect big cheers and standing ovations, there was a deathly silence. (referring to the Cannes screening)"

Fuck!!

"It is – and QT would have to admit this– immature. From Pitt’s ’tache to a mad hatter Hitler, it’s war seen through the eyes of a film geek, taking outrageous liberties with history and national sensibilities.

Thus, the Germans leer, the Americans are brave and the Brits posh. Enjoyable? Sure. But for 2 hours and 40 minutes it’s a big ask to keep brattishness exhilarating."

AWESOME!! I KNEW he would do it like that! geek immaturity for the fucking WIN!

"Despite a World War II setting, “Inglorious Basterdsâ€

From the clip, the opening looks fantastic, as predicted from anyone’s who’s read the script and it sounds like it’s one of the better moments. I didn’t think the rest matched this on page, and it appears it’s true from reviews, I wish there was more of that. And the basement scene is supposed to be another good moment than transformed just as well from the page.
