Sure its been posted before, but the “dead as dillinger” reference was to do with Eddie Bunker playing dillinger in one of his first / most memorable film roles. Dillinger being shot out front of a cinema as he came out.

you’ve got it all wrong, my friend, the “dead as dillinger” line references Lawrence Tierney’s role as John Dillinger in “Dillinger”, not Eddie Bunker

I allways kinda thought Mr Blue was a bit of a pointless caracter but having come on this forum i relises that he does have a point
