I’m watching Kill Bill on TNT (cable tv) right now and I thought I’d start a list of redubbing/edits they made on the actual film.
(FEEL FREE TO ADD ON)
Chapter 1
Beatrix (to Vernita): Theres not a DAMN FREAKIN thing you can do about it.
The Pussy Wagon becomes the PARTY WAGON! They actually redid the graphics on the tail of the truck! (Loved this one)
Chapter 2:
Earl McGraw to Son #1: This tall drink of…WATER aint dead. (This was like kung fu movie dubbing haha!)
Buck to Trucker: The price is 75 dollars a RIDE.
(The whole fuck Jane Doe instruction speech is cut)!!! Damn!
Buck: My name is Buck and I’m here to PARTY heh heh heh (LOL!)
Beatix: Your name is Buck RIGHT? and you came to PARTY right?
Beatrix (looks at keys): PARTY WAGON?..FREAK! (LOL!)
Bea is looking for the truck in the parking garage and it reads PARTY WAGON, you can see its CGI’d out.
Bea (in back of truck): I could see the faces of the TRAMPS who did this to me and the JERK responsible.

It seems surreal to me that they go to those lengths… It is weird.
Is there like a special editing studio that edits shit like: pussy wagon? Censorship to this degree is kinda scary…

Yeah, that’s what is surreal. I can’t believe they go to those lengths to censor films.
Censoring swearing and extreme violence/hardcore sex on primetime TV is what I grew up with. It doesnt really bother me. If I really want to see the films unedited, Ill just get the DVDs. It also depends on which channel youre watching, some cable channels are much more open to letting stuff go.
Yippie Kay Yay Mr. Fletcher. This was hilarious. This may seem odd to you non-U.S. people but I’m suprised how much they actually showed. I figured they would have skipped the whole Anime.
Come on Bitch. What I don’t understand is, when I was younger they showed tits and swore on cable. What the hell happened? USA used to show all kinds of naughty movies at 10p.m. Now they show family friendly tv shows.

Mahbad. After re-watching the DVD, Vernita always said those lines! After like the 53rd viewing of the movie, I finally noticed it. Guess it was my 5.1 system that always covered her lines.
I actually love to watch the TV edit of some films. Jackie Brown was awesomely funny.

Its realy great to hear some of the funny lines they string together. I wish I could remember some of the lines, you would love it.

Yeah, I thought so too. When I was in the US, pretty recently, Die Hard was on television and I remember thinking, wtf? Even as it was, there were warnings after every ad break about the violence. Die Hard is a M rating here. Which means it can be showed primetime easily.

I’ve known about this for quite sometime. It hurt me not to watch KB, but I knew they would slice and burn. My mom was watching from the next room and she did say they showed the whole eye plucking scene. I though, go TNT.

How do they do the redub, voice-edit thing? are the real actors used? I mean you’d know if Uma Thruman said something and then some other lady says a word that is not in the original, right?
I have to say I have seen alot of movies edited for tv (scarface,breakfast club) and kill bill is one of the best. I mean sometimes you’ll get a small silence but other than that Its really good.
