Best of QT Film Fest coverage

Most of the US dom cheers came in jest from a certain row of entertainers… a handful of cheers outside this row you have to feel sorry for if they were actually serious.

If the weather outlook is right tonight will be changed to South Lamar.

We can only hope… I for one don’t want to spend 4 hours outside in the grass and dirt.

Yup I got my Ragin Bull pizza also at the start of the Drunken Snake Fist movie, that is an awesome pizza…

badassmovieman ok I will look for you… It would be great if you could help me try to convince the AFS director to let us have a copy of the tapes, or that they would themselves release the complete QT intros since they are filming them all.

Cause when I asked the guy who is filming, he is hired by AFS to do a “trailer” of the QT Fest to be released only after the festival is over. So I’d think it would be great if:

  1. eigther they do some work everyday to put the whole video that they have on austinfilm.org

  2. or else they let me digitize their tapes each day on my laptop and I’ll put the whole thing on qtfest.com which they can also use at austinfilm.org

  3. They should let me film around the Drafthouse cinema, I’d like to interview Harry Knowles, Badassmovieman and other cinema specialists so if they want to contribute in reviewing the ongoing Fest on video that would be great…

Anyways I am not going to insist too much, I’ll just try again to take my camera with me today at the Glenn, I’ll ask Rebecca the boss of the Festival if she could authorize me to film everything and put it on the internet for film fans.

Everyone in town for QT Fest. If it is moved to South Lamar tonight I’m trying to organize getting as many people together to go out to dinner beforehand. Be a good chance for us all to meet. Feel free to contact me if your interested. I’m on AIM/Yahoo as: bestofqtfest or just drop me an e-mail here. I want to be close to the first of the line if it’s at South Lamar as they may have to divide the theaters up and I’d rather be in group A than group B.

Micah - any places you would recommend doing the dinner at? Nice Kiss the Girls review. It’s funny how many eurospy films have nearly the exact same plot - which is probably why Lightning Bolt didn’t play as well last time, since it was like watching two films of the same kind back to back, with Lightning Bolt being much the lesser of the two. There is also some exploitation films outside of this and Hollywood fare that lift the same plot.

Charbax - We can introduce you to some other people who might be able to help in your quest for the intro’s, etc.

Eddiekaay - I loved that picture of the Drafthouse. Did you touch that up any in Photoshop or is that all your camera. Incredible shot.

Biggest shock of today was seeing someone slip about the Grind House screenings that have been going on.

WORK REAL HARD ON INTRO"S GUYS!!!

GET BACK TO US ON ALL THE INFO!!!

Thanks Blake - I felt bad that I didn’t enjoy Snake… more than I did, but even Harry says last night’s screening just wasn’t the same vibe as the first.

As for dinner, there’s a Chuy’s just around the corner thats pretty kickass.

Yahoo Search - Web Search

They are filming Elvis and Anabelle outside my hotel window right now. Opened up the windows sans shirt to be greeted by an entire cast and crew.

Official word from AFS comes down at 4pm. I’ll post what they say here. As of now AFS doesn’t think it’s gonna rain tonight. Everyone else in Austin, myself included thinks it will rain.

Chuy’s sounds great. Guess we better reserve a table in advance if we eat there. Aaron and Eric were leaning to Trudy’s (not familiar with it).

Can you take some photos of you guys at dinner? Would be cool to see y’all round the table.

Oh yeah I think we all will be doing that. Also, just posted some pics of the film shoot outside.

Ok screening is on at the Glenn tonight :frowning: AFS has just confirmed it will still be there.

Crap, I just saw that. So I guess dinner is back off? See everyone at the Glenn.

In Harry’s report, he says tarantino told Mitchell to shut up.

How did he say it?

Seriously, or in a joke manner.

I personally don’t like Elvis Mitchell, so I have no problem with him saying that. ;D

They were both definitely having fun-!

I wonder what Elvis had to say about Tarantino’s “Cherokee” comment tonight.

second night was great fun outside – Tarantino mentioned the “drive-in” effect and that’s definitely what it felt like.

you really haven’t lived until you’ve heard Quentin sing the theme from "Hollywood Man!"

after 2 nights at the QT fest, it’s clear to me that being a film student in the DVD generation causes you to miss out on a lot of cool shit.

Tonight really seperated the people who wanted to see a famous guy from the hardcore exploitation lovers.

Absolutely correct Nick… only the truly hardcore were left to freeze and bask in the glory of Hollywood Man.

Actually, after Hollywood Man started, I didn’t feel cold any more. Was it because of the weather or the movie I will never know (but I have my guess).

My guess would be the massive amounts of liquor that were consumed during the break… but maybe that’s just me.
