Re: Deutsche Synchronfassungen

Re: I just finished my second screenplay

I am 28 and I feel like I'm surrounded by kids. As my English teacher once said: Mozart was 5 when he composed his first symphony. No writer ever got famous at the same age. It takes experience to write well. Personally I think that holds true for any form of writing, be it poetry, prose or screenwr...

thats cool man, do you know how you can make a good colour in your movie? hhhmmm....like for instance the whole gray/blue tone in underworld...are those mainly computer effects or is there a good way to make shades of colour directly when filming? dont know if this makes any sense... ::) I'd say yo...

Re: Good cameras for independent films

what about seperate lenses? they are hella expensive...do you guys use them? I like wide angle and also the telescopic one was helpful. yes they are way to expensive  :( I also like Dutch angles (only if it helps the story) and slight upwards/downwards tilts can be very effective. So can filters (t...

Re: First Extreme Low Budget Film- Help

@LisaLovelace, in case you are still looking for a DV camcorder, I am selling one. It's not 3 chip but as I said in another thread, the difference was only marginal when I compared it to students films that were done with 3CCs about 1000 dollars more expensive. It's this model: http://www.megacamera...

Re: Ratio of Action/Description to Dialogue

Generally, the dialogue should take up anywhere between 10 to 25% of your screenplay.  Action/Description should be at least 50% excellent and I was already worried I would have to much description, phew.... PS: hey deliveryman, I sent you a yahoo instant message. You seem to have quite some experi...

Re: Good cameras for independent films

...Seriously, it's very flexible, and the picture is soo incredibly close to film. you gotta be kidding me. I've seen my deal of projects screened and DV is DV, the 3chip difference is marginal, unless you got a really old and crappy camcorder. Then there is a huge huge gap and then there is HD and...

Ratio of Action/Description to Dialogue

Final Draft offers this nice statistical feature that gives you the amount of headers, action/description, dialogue, parentheticals in percent. Now I realize that there is a difference if one is writing an action script or a comedy. I also know that a lot of screenwriters frown upon heavy descriptio...

Tarantino Homage

ok, I hope you are not going to be too pissed if I hijack your thread. I'm gonna use this as an oportunity to post a scene from a friend's short I really liked. I hope he doesn't mind hehehe. No, I know, he doesn't. While the film is in English, this one scene isn't but it's subtitled. I speak Germa...

Re: How does it work?

To overcome this, I just write down random scenes that really don't have to make a whole lot of sense.  However, what this does is, it gives you opportunities to come up with ideas based on what you've written.  Just go from there. Excellent approach, I also tried it but I failed miserably. I am ju...

Re: Future Directors

My suggestion is this: Goto film school, or take a 'Film Studies' program at a university or college.  They will teach you all the necessary things you need to know, when producing, directing, editing etc. a film.   Let's face it, not all aspiring directors are going to be directors.  That shouldn'...

Re: Have u ever used a QT line in real life?

What's annoying in RD is that two different characters both say that line. What are the chances that they would both just happen to use that phrase? haha, yes, not very likely. I only know "To be, or not to be" but for me it's completely out of context, naturally, since I haven't read or seen the p...

Pulp Fiction  ;D I was a bit dissapointed with Kill Bill II, well Kill Bill in general. Especially Vol. II was at times kitschy and exaggerated but then again - I know - it was a different kind of movie. I think I am more into the old fashioned gangster stories. True Romance was a pretty good mov...

and believe it or not, there are countries on this globe where no international moviemaker/actor/actress ever sets foot on.

my country for instance will never see Q. Tarantino live :(

at least we had Arnold ROTFLMAO before he got too famous, hehehe.
